Once you have installed Quickbooks you are ready to go. When you first open Quickbooks, you will get a screen something like shown here. It states that no companies are open. Just to fill you in, here we have already created a sample company: "A retailer who tracks individual sales". This is the sample company that you seen in the selection box. That does not matter though.
So when you first start Quickbooks you will have an option of opening a sample company. You can select the kind of company that best resembles your business. On the screen you see 3 options:
1. Create a new Company
2. Open or restore an existing Company
3. Open a sample file - (We have already opened one: though we will show you how to open another)
